Most of us see ourselves surrounded by family, young and old, perhaps at a family meal on a special occasion, everyone dressed their best. But who is the light in this picture? Children. Your children, your nephews and nieces and little cousins and grandchildren who have grown SO tall since the last time you saw them. Youth are the LIGHT of our community, the light, hope and future of our ummah.
It will be a place of their own for prayers together.
We envision Brooklyn Muslim Center will be a place for games, swimming, laughter.
A place where they are called upon to lead their peers, nurture their leadership skills, and practice their speaking skills
We are raising 8 million dollars to have a place to invite youth inside, to give the youth in our community a place to come, a gathering place filled with friends and supportive adults who are there for them and really do just want to listen and not judge them. Our Muslim youth deserve an amazingly cool, comfortable, fun place to be together and be in community, a supportive peer community, TOGETHER.
About The Brooklyn
Muslim Center
Brooklyn Muslim Center strives to give Muslim youth a supportive place to take their journey on a positive path. They’ll be in close proximity to caring adults who will motivate them to want to find a hopeful purpose, to give them a map if they’ve lost their direction, to keep them on the path toward light, to equip and empower them to become strong Muslim leaders of our community, not tomorrow – today!
We’re an extension of their ummah with big enough arms and shoulders to embrace them wherever they are in life – in doubt, in sin, in pain, in sadness, in frustration or confusion. We will stand up for them and walk with them through those times.

We must work together to fuel the light of our communities – our youth.
You can join us and be FOR YOUTH too by supporting Brooklyn Muslim Center. When you give, you are pouring oil in the new lamps that will light the future of our communities…a lamp that burns low will start to flicker. We do not blame the flame for flickering, we refill the oil in the lamp. We have to make sacrifices today so that the lights of our community, our youth, burn brightly for all to see to the praise of our Lord.
So who are we, brothers and sisters, if we do not stand with our youth against this darkness they are facing? Who are we as a community if we do not walk arm in arm with our youth and tell them, “Come to us. We are FOR you. You are welcome here. We will fight on YOUR side.” This is the message youth will hear at Brooklyn Muslim center.

What do kids really DO at Brooklyn Muslim Center?
Whatever puts a light in their hearts.” And of course, if they don’t come in with specific plans and ideas, we’ll be within arm’s reach to help them out with the rest. We position youth as “the light of our community.”
Good WORK. When we see certain societal problems, we tend to blame the youth sometimes, don’t we? We forget that we weren’t much different at their age. How did we get through those times? We had older brothers, sisters, uncles, parents and friends closeby to support us and keep our feet on a good path.
